A Miracle in West Palm

By Bill & Marla Abraham

The Universal Lightworkers Conference was held Nov. 8 – 10th 2002, at the Sheraton Hotel in West Palm, and was a stunning success. Every speaker imparted valuable information in useful and amusing presentations. The presence of love permeated the gathering. Robin Rose, who brought this wonderful event to West Palm, organized it and presented it flawlessly. While some may believe that this is hyperbole, they were not there.

Aluna Joy is a captivating woman who spoke of her voyages to the Mayan world. She has led guided spiritual pilgrimages for the past 13 years. Her youthful apprenticeship served in a Mt. Shasta community amplified her talk with examples of lessons learned. Her exotic tales of Central and South American cultural sites fascinated the audience.

Dr. Gerald Jampolsky, a psychiatrist and Dr. Diane Cirincione a psychologist, spoke on freeing yourself from the pain of holding on to past hurts through forgiveness. They playfully shared the stage with each other as they gently pointed out that lack of forgiveness is not just a problem, which occurs on the level of thought, but can actually manifest itself as physical ailments. They revealed this through the use of touching and sometimes funny parables and stories, often drawn from their own life experiences. They showed us the value and necessity of using forgiveness to free ones self of the baggage that we may drag about. Much of this philosophy of unconditional love and forgiveness was credited to A Course In Miracles. Many Course in Miracle study groups can be found in our area. Call Interfaith Pathways, (561) 792 – 9374 to join a new Course In Miracles and Meditation group in Wellington.

Patti Cota-Robles spoke of the messages of Hope and Illumined Truth. She brought messages of comfort and peace during these turbulent times. Her words encouraged many to feel that there was a strong possibility that all will evolve for the greater good. We joined together in love and prayer, holding the perfect vision for our world. She will also be offering a FREE seminar on Jan. 19, 2003 at the Holiday Inn in Ft. Lauderdale, 10:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.

Dr. Michael Mirdad presented a path to Living Mastery. He revealed the dichotomy between our Divine Self and our human self. The healing of this split will make us whole. His explanation of our place in the known universe was humbling. His implication that statistically we are not alone in developing sentient life was lucid and compelling. Dr. Mirdad is a very charismatic speaker.

Martin Gray, a brilliant scholar and humanitarian, presented a narrated slide show of some of the most sacred sites of our planet. The presentation was both visually stunning and meditative. It brought forth an appreciation of the unity of humanity. His personal commitment to this project stems from the years he has spent visiting these sites, mostly by foot and bicycle.

Dr. Michael Abrams, an emergency room physician, spoke of his vast experiences with the Angel of Evolution. The implication of an Angel of Evolution in contrast to an Angel of Death implies the continuance of the soul. He has been present at the transition of many people and his wisdom made this talk fascinating and uplifting. He drew many examples of growth and change from his own personal experience. While these personal experiences were not always pleasant to live through, they provided opportunities for growth. His emphasis on meditation and various aspects of yoga made clear the value of these practices.

Dr. Jacob Liberman, an optometrist, presented a powerful yet gentle argument for living in the Now. His experiments with light and his own miraculous healing of his sight provided a basis for his presentation. Amazingly, he seemed to be having a private conversation with each person in the audience. He reached out in a mystical way to personally touch each and every person. He most strongly encouraged everyone to be an active part of the world, in the present moment, and not be satisfied to merely read about life.

In addition to these major speakers the conference was enlightened by a workshop on Tantra Yoga led by Valerie Brooks. Her new book, “Tantric Awakening” has been enthusiastically received. She had everyone deeply involved in the exercises she presented in her workshop. She seemed to be a through researcher and an active advocate for her practice.

The conference was graced with the comedy of Swami Beyondananda, (Steve Bhaerman) who often provided moments of ego adjustment and hilarity with the greatest of tact and love. He also revealed some of the principals underlying comedy in his workshop, which was entertaining and valuable. The use of comedy enables people to defuse highly charged issues.

Perhaps the most truly innovative presentation at the conference, was given in a workshop by Allen and Audrey Smith of Rainbow Didge Creations. They exposed the workshop participants to an intimate vibratory experience of their music. The didgeridoo, a native instrument of the indigenous peoples of Australia, blended with the soaring beauty of many types of flutes, meshed with the high tech drum pad to produce a powerful experience, which we strongly urge you to seek out at the very next opportunity. The effect was wondrous. We both experienced powerful shamanic journeys through their music.

Rainbow Didge Creations was joined during the whole weekend by Armand and Angelina, who produced a hauntingly beautiful musical force, centered on Angelina’s extraordinary voice. If you have never heard a lyric soprano before this can be a startling treat. Twin Flame, Wen Boley and Rebecca Hilton were a connection to the divine through out the weekend. Their voices, lyrics and musical style had an angelic quality, adding to the ambiance. The Ron Gosio Band (with Bruce Sanders) provided a guitar presence that offered everyone some well-loved Beatles tunes, as well as other music. Michael Mirdad also joined the musicians with flair and did double duty as ceremonial host when Robin was not available. The music so moved the group that we often found ourselves dancing in the aisles.

The conference was greatly enhanced by the many vendors who offered truly desirable merchandise. Margaret Lembo’s The Crystal Garden, from our own area, had a wide selection of books, crystals, jewelry and other esoteric items. Trudy Lite offered beaded Egyptian scarves, which caught the fancy of many participants. They seemed to have a magical quality. A visionary artist, Ann Rothan, not only tempted many a person to buy her beautiful, spiritual watercolors, but she helped decorate the conference area as well. Digby Bertram, Avalon Dist. offered extraordinary jewelry and crystals. Brooke Peterson and Catherine Marie were offering health and wellness products and an opportunity to join a women’s networking group. You can contact them at eWomen network.com. The speaker’s books, cds, videos and tapes were available and were signed by the authors upon request. A full listing of all the vendors who participated can be obtained from the website, www.universallightworkers.com. They helped to make the event more interesting and memorable. You may get information for next year’s conference by watching this site for dates and developments.

The whole conference was recorded on high quality cds and tapes and is available at www.AuroraRecording.com.

If it sounds like we thought it was the best conference we had been to in a long time, that’s because it was. Throughout the conference, the presenters were readily available for personal discussion in a collegial atmosphere. You may wish to get out your piggy bank and put away $1 a day and you will be with us next year at the best gathering of Lightworkers on the planet.
